"Building A Presence"

Its my first Christian writer's conference and I didn't realize that before I ever began to write, I needed to develop a "presence" so that publishing professionals would see that I am seriously Networking with readers and professionals to build name recognition.

"Building a presence" involves things like:

• Developing a Website
• Creating a blog
• Posting a business e-mail account
• Hosting groups on Face book or Twitter

Sounds like a lot doesn't it? It is a lot, especially when you haven't done any of these things before. Don't worry . . . take a deep breath, offer a prayer to God and consult with as many people as you can as well as searching the Internet for information. Little little, things will come together.

So when you attend your first conference - be prepared. Have a business card with all the contact information listed above so that you will be able to Network with others in an effective manner.
